Simultaneous and Joint Inversion
Recent advances in technology have enabled seismic inversion to yield far finer detail than previously resolved from seismic data. Without resorting to sub-seismic scale stochastic models, Simultaneous Inversion (SI) uses full fold pre-stack seismic data to derive P-wave, S-wave and Density rock properties directly using powerful and efficient algorithms. Joint Inversion (JI) additionally incorporates recorded S-wave data into the inversion which is particularly useful when P-wave imaging is degraded, for example, due to gas clouds.
Vp, Vs and density volumes are output. From these a broad range of rock and fluid identification volumes can be generated, e.g. λρ, μρ, Poisson's Ratio, Zp, Zs, χ projections.

Pre-conditioning of the seismic data for the SI is a critical stage. At SIP we combine our experience in seismic processing and that in AVO and inversion to provide optimum data for input to the inversion. Our AutoImager technology uniquely outputs flat gathers (a prerequisite for the inversion) and migrates the AVO responses to the correct offset plane. The combination of these properly migrated gathers, the high density velocity field and the SI technology is only available through SIP.
